We invite you to contribute to African Identities. Each submission will be reviewed anonymously by at least two referees.

Articles should preferably be submitted electronically as an email attachment in MS Word format to one of the editors at the email addresses below.  If they are submitted in hard copy they should be in triplicate, accompanied by an MS Word disk.  Articles should be a maximum length of 8,000 words, including notes and references. Contributions to ‘Commentary and Criticism' should be no longer than 2,000 words. They should be double-spaced throughout (including notes and references). Manuscripts must include an abstract of 150-200 words and around six keywords suitable for online search purposes. Abstracts must not contain any notes or citations. The full postal and e-mail addresses of the corresponding author should also be provided, as well as the telephone and fax numbers. Because manuscripts are reviewed anonymously, the author's name, affiliation, and contact details should appear only on a separate, detachable title page.

Proofs of articles will be available online. Any corrections must be returned within 48 hours. Printer's errors alone may be corrected.

Reprints. Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Reprints of articles published in African Identities can be purchased through Rightslink® when proofs are received or alternatively on our journals website. If you have any queries, please contact our reprints department at reprints@tandf.co.uk. Additional copies of the journal can be purchased at the author's preferential rate of £15.00 per copy.

Permissions. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holders for reproducing through any medium of communication those illustrations, tables, figures or lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere. Add your acknowledgements to the typescript, preferably in the form of an Acknowledgements section at the end of the paper. Credit the source and copyright of photographs or figures in the accompanying captions.

Copyright. It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or license the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to Taylor & Francis. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors retain many rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies, which can be found at http://journalauthors.tandf.co.uk/preparation/copyright.asp. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.
